Scrumptious snacks to enjoy on a summer bike ride

12th July 2021

With a restriction free summer on the horizon, we can start to enjoy the warmer months with loved ones.  Last year saw a rise in Brits getting on their bikes to enjoy nature and relieve stress as part of our daily exercise. Now that picnicking is firmly back on the agenda, why not stop off and enjoy some tasty snacks in the sun on your weekend cycle?

We have put together a list of our favourite bike routes to visit and snacks to indulge in along the way, from classic Cocktail Sausage Rolls to a delicious Vegan Jumbo Roll, there’s something for everyone to tuck into.

Monsal Trail, Peak District

The Monsal Trail is one of the best trails to visit in central England, a traffic free route that is perfect for cyclists and dog walkers alike.

The trail runs through some of the Peaks’ most spectacular limestone dales – as a former railway there is lots of flat ground to cycle on at top speed. Why not take a break and enjoy the beautiful views whilst tucking into some of our Cocktail Sausage Rolls? They’re perfect for sharing and fuelling the family!

The Lakeland Loop, Lake District

If a longer, more strenuous bike ride is your tipple then this one is for you. A long loop around the Lake District to take in the breath-taking views is ideal for the sunny weather and it’s voted one of the most beautiful cycle routes in Britain (according to redbull.com).

It’s the perfect place to stop and have a picnic with beautiful views of the district. Give yourself a much-needed boost of energy with a Vegan Jumbo Roll or Chicken and Bacon Slice – they’re ideal for a picnic and offer a substantial eat to fuel you for your journey.

The Camel Trail, Cornwall

For a beautiful trail by the beach, ideal for a shorter cycle, then try the beautiful Cornish countryside. The 18-mile trial is full of flat terrain, perfect for walkers too, which follows the river Camel from Padstow to the Cornish coast.

Stop along the river and take a well-deserved break with one of our Cheese and Onion Rolls, a nice treat to stop and relish as you take in the stunning scenery.

The Phoenix Trail, Oxfordshire to Buckinghamshire

This southern trail is perfect to explore with loved ones, it’s rather spacious and very flat. This 7km trail runs between the market towns of Thame in South Oxfordshire and Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, the route also features lots of great, green outdoor space to roll out your blanket and share these Snack Sausage Rolls – the perfect bite-sized treats.
